We are headed out of town for a few days courtesy of my parents (can I hear an Amen?), where we have a packed schedule full of activities each day. Just kidding. We're headed out of town to go sleep for a few days. But, before we go I thought you'd like to see a shot of Lexi from school on Friday. Her teachers got creative with the girls and had some fun.
Here's a sneak peak at the Halloween costumes this year, assuming it's a little chilly. They're too cute to wait to post. Abby is most interested in the scary life size skeleton man at Target to concern herself with a costume, so she'll probably just be a UGA cheerleader.
Funny story for the day: Josh was trying to sneak a cookie in the kitchen while Abby was watching Dora. He finished and came to the couch and she immediately busted him. "Daddy, you had cookie!"
Will weighed in at 15 pounds and Lexi came in at 13 pounds - the rest of the office visit was pretty uneventful, if you can call an office visit with two 4 month old infants uneventful.
Below is a shot before they went to bed on their four month birthday - no, we don't usually dress them in the same outfit but we had to do it at least once. Will is on the left, in case you can't tell who is who.
Here's a bunch of photos to cover the past few weeks. Abby enjoying the last of her finger paints (note the use of the paints to change her skin and Tshirt color - yes, it did come out, eventually), trying on the UGA outfit from Nana (note her skill at the leg extension jump thing already), and enjoying the new swing set outside (note that we are STILL growing out our bangs).
It would seem that the twins don't get their photos taken very often, which is true, since they usually are asleep by 7 p.m. And they aren't that good with the finger paints yet.
Bottom set of pics are from game day, and because we figure we should actually be in the photos every now and then, so our kids can see what we looked like.
Sorry to not have updated more recently - we will put up some photos later in the week to celebrate the lives of our precious children. Some dear friends of ours said goodbye to their one month old son yesterday, and we'll be going to his memorial service on Thursday. Our hearts break with them, although we cannot begin to imagine the heartache that they are experiencing right now. Please keep the Apinis family in your prayers as they walk this rough road, and hug your children today. We're grateful to God for each moment we have with ours.
We had friends over to christen the new swingset in the backyard - and Abby even let Harper swing on her swings. Garrett gave us hope that some day in the future our children will be able to climb the "Thunderdome" (that's for you ARuss).
We've done two days of work and daycare and everyone is doing really well. I can hardly stand the mental stimulation and "free" time I now have. Not to mention regular showers and teeth brushing. Extra credit to any friends who chuckle with me about the naming of two conference rooms while I was gone: "Small Room" and "First Come, First Serve Room". Is that good enough for "The Office"?
The twins are 2 of 5 babies in their room, and their teacher is doing really well keeping their schedule. Yesterday after their first day, they came home and ate at 8 p.m. and then sleep soundly until we woke them up at 6 a.m. this morning. Holy cow! We're holding our breath to see what happens tonight. They are in the same crib in the nursery - Abby has done awesome in the full size bed in her new room.
On my last week of maternity leave, we thought we'd tackle one more house update. We're now the proud owners of an enlarged deck off of the kitchen, covering our old concrete slab. And we bid farewell to the last three (partially) standing Bradford pear trees. Josh and "Pa" have worked diligently on the latest addition to Six Flags over the Hansons, a new swingset, which will go in the area where the red clay is in the photos (it has mulch over it now - more photos to come once the whole thing gets put together). 37 steps . . . 8 bags of small screws, nails, and bolts, 2 big boxes . . . eezy peezy!
Abby looks so sweet with her " new do"! And the babies are certainly a treat in their Halloween outfits. read more
