So, we survived our trip west, thanks to the wonderful people of Delta. Remember those scenes of frantic parents running through airports from movies? That was us. Traffic on Friday in ATL was horrible, and we got to the airport 30 minutes before our flight took off. A wonderful man got us through the first class check in (sorry to all those that we skipped in front of), and we ran through security and managed to get our bags checked at the gate. Holy cow. We were tired by the time we got on the flight, and thankfully Abby was really great both ways and slept a good bit.
Here's some CA photos, including one of her first time on a swing.
If you are bored, take a look at some headshots I took for some women in the Atlanta area who are doing some neat work: http://www.adoptionfamilylaw.com/OurTeam.htm.
Happy Thanksgiving to all - we hope that everyone had a great holiday. Abby made the trip up to Indiana to Nana and Papa's house and met bunches of cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Her shirt says "How cute am I?", so please feel free to post just how adorable you think she is. Her parents aren't biased at all.
Hard to believe it, but Abby was 6 months old yesterday. I can't believe she is halfway to one!
Here are some shots of her: in the exersaucer we borrowed, contemplating life with the green block (the only one she really likes because it has the tags), and in the jumperoo, which we got from Nana Hanson. God bless the people who invented these.
Some thoughts: at this stage of feeding, the plastic bibs are not so good. Abby likes to take a bite from the spoon, and then suck on her hand after each bite. The cloth bibs at least absorb the food, because at times she gets the bib in her mouth instead of just her hand. With the plastic ones, the food kind of just slides around, and when she puts the bib to her mouth, everything on the bib goes on to her face. Although funny, the clean up isn't the greatest. I was trying to think of an invention that would help alleviate the clean up, but all I could think of was sticking her in the Bumbo and wrapping her in Saran Wrap.
Hard to believe it's November already and that Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away. We will be making the trek up to Indiana to see family, so Abby can meet her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We had a big 3rd birthday party to attend this past week, so here's a photo of Abby from the event.
She does officially have her first pair of jeans, so we'll post photos of that soon.
So far sweet potatoes and peas are going alright - the potatoes more so than the peas. Too bad mom didn't have any plastic bibs before we started on that adventure - we're headed to Babies R Us today!
We had a number of outfits to rotate through - some didn't make it all the way until picture time (sorry, Mom).
We do have the Holly Hobby and the polar outfit - she was in these for about 6 seconds each, and then went to bed.
I think we had 4 kids come by in total last night. Thankfully a little Harry Potter and his little sister came by to visit.
