Merry Christmas! Hard to believe it's that time of year again. All it took to remind me was going out to the store on Saturday. "What's with all the people? Oh yeah, Christmas is on Friday."

Four of my best girlfriends and I braved the cold weather to take 7 children (all 5 and under) to a Disney show. Although my daughter might have preferred Dora, everyone did really well. There were a few naps taken during the show (by both children and adults alike), and fortunately the popcorn they sell comes in buckets the size of a bowling ball, so we were all rested and fed by the time we left. We even managed to escape without buying any overpriced cups, Disney hats, or flashing light thingeys.

What's left for us to do? I think we'll take a car ride around the neighborhood to show Abby the lights, maybe attend a children's service on Christmas Eve, and then of course we have officially entered the phase of our life where we will be assembling toys the night before Christmas. One of these gifts for Abby has been sitting in our foyer for well over a month, totally exposed, and she hasn't even noticed it.

Holiday Antics

So, it's taking a little more effort to decorate for the holidays this year, with the whole working full time and three kids under three thing. And, we're on our third ear infection in three weeks (that's one for each of Will's ears and one for Lexi's right ear), and three of us are on antibiotics right now. (That would be me and the twins.)

But, we have a tree up that has lights and decorations, and we even have 5 strands of lights up outside. FYI, the replacement bulbs that have red on the tips are the flashing ones. The current status of our tree depends on the time of day; last night it alternated between being horizontal and vertical. So far today it's decided to stay vertical. Our ornaments don't look half bad hanging from the window blinds, in case you are looking for a less complicated decorating option. We'll see how long we can go without getting a letter from our HOA's decoration committee. Or, as Abby would say, the "decowayshon" committee.

It's the most wonderful time of the year . . .

Black Friday

Not much happening here on the day after Thanksgiving, so we took some photos. Abby suckered me in to buying a gingerbread house, so that fun lasted us about 7 minutes. What's that black stuff on her face, you ask? "I'm a kitty kat, mommy!" That's some mascara and eyeliner combined on her face. The guy at Bed, Bath and Beyond thought it was pretty funny this morning.

Happy Thanksgiving

We will be posting photos soon of the twins 6 month birthday - holy cow, time flies. They made a trip to the doctor last week because they both had colds, and Will has an ear infection in one ear. But, oddly enough, Lexi is the one who was fussing the most. All is well now. We've started solids - Lexi is taking to it a little bit better, perhaps due to her two bottom teeth, or just because she's Lexi. Will weighed in at 18 lbs. (hello, new car seat soon), and Lexi weighed 15.5 lbs.

We enjoyed a relaxing day at home, and had some friends drop in with turkey, ham, and a cheesecake. What a deal!

Seriously?

We are headed out of town for a few days courtesy of my parents (can I hear an Amen?), where we have a packed schedule full of activities each day. Just kidding. We're headed out of town to go sleep for a few days. But, before we go I thought you'd like to see a shot of Lexi from school on Friday. Her teachers got creative with the girls and had some fun.

First Haircut

On Saturday we crossed the milestone of Abby's first haircut - we went with Harper so that Abby could see her go first. Apparently it was "no big deal" - since Dora and lollipops were involved. No tears were shed, except when Harper couldn't wash her hands in the big sink.

Sneak Peak

Here's a sneak peak at the Halloween costumes this year, assuming it's a little chilly. They're too cute to wait to post. Abby is most interested in the scary life size skeleton man at Target to concern herself with a costume, so she'll probably just be a UGA cheerleader.

Funny story for the day: Josh was trying to sneak a cookie in the kitchen while Abby was watching Dora. He finished and came to the couch and she immediately busted him. "Daddy, you had cookie!"

Four months

Will weighed in at 15 pounds and Lexi came in at 13 pounds - the rest of the office visit was pretty uneventful, if you can call an office visit with two 4 month old infants uneventful.

Below is a shot before they went to bed on their four month birthday - no, we don't usually dress them in the same outfit but we had to do it at least once. Will is on the left, in case you can't tell who is who.
